The test had its own Extreme Make Over! · Now TOEFL is also getting competition, and the competition has set off debates at American colleges over the best way to measure students’ English competency, the obligations of American colleges to students from the poorest parts of the world, and the changing nature of international recruiting. · The challenger to TOEFL is the International English Language Testing System, known by its acronym, IELTS. Co-sponsored by the English testing entity of the University of Cambridge, and British and Australian organizations that encourage international education, IELTS has long been the dominant test for students from non-English speaking countries seeking to enroll in English-speaking nations of the British Commonwealth. But in the last three years, IELTS has quietly become a force in the United States as well, where the number of colleges accepting IELTS on equal footing with TOEFL has doubled, to more than 800. · IELTS is generally accepted in the UK, Australia and other countries from the Commonwealth. IELTS has gained popularity and acceptance in many universities beyond the UK. · IELTS uses a scoring system from 0 to 9 and students usually need a score of between 5.5 and 7.5 depending on the course they wish to follow. · Our IELTS courses include both General and Academic English. Our IELTS classes are dynamic and challenging and will focus on academic skills such as note-taking, comprehension, essay writing and presentation. The minimum age for enrolment is 13.

English competence at intermediate level is a must for enrolment in Special Courses.

1) General Conversation:

Level: Beginner to Proficiency

General English classes focus on the development of all language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, while also helping to improve your grammar, pronunciation and fluency. Classes are available for all levels from beginner to proficiency.

Throughout your studies, your progress will be closely monitored, you will be given homework and encouraged to use our self-access materials when studying at home.

When you finish your course, you will receive the Goftogoo Special Center for English Education Certificate confirming the completion of your studies and you will have the opportunity to take one of the many internationally recognized examinations.

2) Intensive General English AND Total Immersion:

Level: Elementary to Advanced

A fast track to learning English, this program enables you to make the maximum progress in the time available (21 to 30 hours per week). You can choose to take additional General English classes per week or to combine a standard course with IELTS, pronunciation or any of our other Goftogoo programs.

To make every moment count (60 hours per week), we will pair you up with one of our highly experienced teachers, who will accompany you in your spare time (between group classes) and help you to practice and refine your conversational and idiomatic language skills

3) EXAMINATION PREPARATION

Level: Pre-Intermediate to Proficiency

Our examination preparation courses are designed to provide you with thorough preparation for one of the many internationally recognized examinations :

A- General English Examinations: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE

· Key English Test (KET)

Cambridge Level 1. A basic qualification in English, it is a first step for those wishing to progress towards the Preliminary English Test.

· Preliminary English Test (PET)

Cambridge Level 2. Proof of English language competence at a basic level of communication sufficient to function effectively in everyday work and social situations.

· First Certificate in English (FCE)

Cambridge Level 3. Showing competence at an intermediate level, the FCE is widely recognized in commerce and industry as well as by educational institutions in Britain.

· Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

Cambridge Level 4. Evidence of a high level of English language competence and accepted by some British universities as proof of the language ability needed to study English at degree level.

· Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)

Cambridge Level 5. Proof of an advanced level of competence in English and accepted by British universities as evidence of the language ability necessary to study at degree level

This course provides you with a great opportunity to reduce your accent and focus on acquiring Standard English pronunciation and intonation patterns. Major focus of this course will be on:

3) Advanced Writing:

Level: Intermediate to Proficiency

This program enables you to improve your English writing skills to the level of a native speaker.

The process of writing - from drafting to finalizing your document

Sentence and paragraph structure

Identifying, organizing and expressing your ideas
